Harbinger of Salvation - Exodus 11

Harbinger of Salvation - Exodus 11

John the Baptist was the harbinger (forerunner) of Jesus Christ.  His purpose was to prepare “the way of the Lord”.  It was an important time of preparation so that when the Lord did appear on the scene they would be primed and ready to effectively participate in the mere 3 year ministry of the Lord Jesus.

Now in this chapter the prologue to one of the most dynamic prophetic events in the Bible was about to occur.  The Passover (described in the next chapter) would be type and shadow of the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.  By this time all of the plagues of Egypt had just about stretched Pharoah to his limit.  One more event would be the “straw that breaks the camels back”

.......he would finally let the people go.

God was setting the stage for a lot of things. A lot of horrific things had happened but God had taken the people of the Lord THROUGH it all.  Great things, even greater things were to come.  I feel like that is just the way it is for us.  Many have been through a lot.  Many are still going through some very heavy things.

But...

...the Lord is not finished.

Greater things are yet to come!

Thank you Bro Hal, we just have to hang on and stay strong and God will prevail and keep us to the very end.
