It’s always neat to hear the reason people like certain people in the Bible. It can give a new perspective and light on things you never looked at before and give a whole new appreciation for the story. Tell me your favorite character and why

I'm going with Peter. He was passionate. That passion got him rewarded and scolded before he received the Holy Ghost. After Jesus forgave him for his denial and then he recived the Holy Ghost he was all in. The other apostles were all in as well but I just feel like I relate to Peter so he is my favorite character. Other than Jesus.

My mind often considers a man and wife. They were a team working together for the Lord. They had a dynamic influence no doubt in their local area, but their influence extended far beyond there own community. The reason: A travelling evangelist named Apollo was invited to their home when he was in the area preaching "John's baptism". Through their hospitality they were able to meet with him and impart the Word of God "more perfectly" concerning being baptized in the Name of Jesus and being filled with the Holy Ghost. He readily accepted this revelation and returned to all the cities where he had preached before. He opened to them this mighty revelation so they to could worship God in Spirit and Truth. By now, you must know that I am referring to Priscilla and Aquila.

Ever since I was a child I have really liked Esther. The courage it must have taken as a woman back in those days is incredible.

Even though we all say Jesus. I have to say Jesus. At the age of 13 I didn’t want to live anymore, the popularity of friends, my family nothing appealed to me but then came Jesus one Sunday night. After backsliding, even though I was going to church every time the doors opened my heart was not there. I told my cousin if you go I’ll go but he didn’t come, I went alone and thank you Jesus and Bro. Kiggins for preaching those words that brought me back to Jesus. You see I learned by myself at 13 life isn’t worth living without Jesus. Bro Kiggins taught me so much to read my Bible everyday even if it is only one verse. Pray everyday. Oh what a friend Jesus is he will never leave me, never forsake me. Now Paster Paul he has the heart of Bro. Kiggins always thinking of others, even a stranger on the street. When I came back to the Lord he was and is such a great brother and friend I am so thankful for him and all of you. Oh how I love Jesus!

David...He was a man after God's own heart. He wasn't perfect, he sinned. But, God knew his heart. We all make mistakes; some big, some small, but God sees and God forgives and God loves us unconditionally!!!

Definitely Peter. He obviously was a hard man but had enough faith and understanding to leave everything that he knew in life when Jesus said follow me. He was the only one brave enough and had faith enough to step out of the boat and walk on water when Jesus said come. When Jesus asked all others who am I?, It was Peter that replied thou art the Christ the son of the living God. Even Jesus said flesh and blood hath not revealed this unto you but my father which art in heaven. And it was of the truth that Peter spoke that day that Jesus said upon this rock will I build my church. He was obviously impetuous because he spoke wrongly when he said that Jesus would not die and was rebuked sharply when Jesus said get thee behind me satan. He was certainly not afraid to fight when he was trying to protect Jesus from being arrested. He was not perfect especially when he denied the Lord, but he was humble enough to acknowlege his sin and he found repentance when others could not find that. It is implied that Peter was crucified upside down because he felt that he was not worthy to die like his Lord. A man with a pure heart a strong will and deep convictions and full of integrity. I would certainly like to be in some small degree like that man.

Right now I'm really in awe with Moses and his relationship with God. (Reading from the daily bible) Exodus 33:11 And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. How amazing is it that?!

You know i forgot to say that he was also the first preacher after he preached to the multitudes at Pentecost. Lets me know that God can use youe no matter what your background is.
I'm wrong about being the first but he was definitely bold enough to tell the people what they had to do to be saved. I really admire that.

Samson is by far my favorite bible character for so many reasons, but the biggest one being that despite his mistakes God answered his prayer and gave him his strength back. The forgiveness he was awarded has always meant so much to me.

Let’s go see the Samson movie that just came out together!

After reading about Joseph I think I’m going to put him at the top of my list too! His story is truly great! His attitude about everything, how greatly God uses him, and how willing he is to allow God to use him. I pray the Lord helps me with my attitude and willingness.

I like the fact that he ALWAYS did his BEST. If he had to be a slave he was going to be the very best slave he could be. In prison he became the best prisoner possible
