Only Believe

Believing in something greater than ourselves and hoping against all hope can often be a difficult concept to grasp, especially in times of despair.  However, as Christians, we are expected to put our faith in God and believe in his power to guide us through our daily struggles. Two examples of this unwavering belief can be seen through the stories of Jarius and the woman with the issue of blood. Let's explore how their acts of courageous faith can help us navigate our own challenges and struggles in life!

Jarius and the Women with the issue of blood

Jarius', a religious leader, had a young daughter who was gravely ill. Despite his position of power, he chose to humble himself by seeking Jesus' help. When Jesus agreed to go with Jarius, they were immediately met with skepticism from the crowd. Despite this, Jarius did not falter in his belief that Jesus possessed the power to heal his daughter. When Jarius' daughter passed away, he did not lose hope. His belief in Jesus' power to bring her back to life was unwavering. In the end, his faith was rewarded as Jesus performed a miracle by bringing his daughter back to life. This story is a testament to the power of faith and the importance of having unwavering belief in God.

Similarly, the woman with the issue of blood had been suffering for twelve years and had tried every possible remedy to no avail. When she heard about Jesus, she was convinced that all she needed to do was to touch his cloak, and she would be healed. She did not allow fear or doubt to stand in her way. As Jesus was passing by, she reached out and touched his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. Jesus healed her not only physically but also spiritually by telling her, "your faith has made you well." Her act of faith in Jesus was all she needed to be healed, and it serves as a reminder to us that, through faith, all things are possible.

In our daily lives, we are often faced with challenges that test our faith and our ability to believe that God has a plan for us. It can be easy to fall into despair and doubt when things do not go as planned. However, the stories of Jarius and the woman with the issue of blood teach us that it is precisely in those moments of despair that we need to have unwavering faith and trust in God's plan for us.

When we face challenging times, we should always lean into our faith. We need to remember that God has a plan for us, and we must be willing to look for his presence in everything, even in the midst of our struggles. It is during those difficult times that we need his guidance the most. As Christians, we must believe that God is always with us and that he will see us through our challenges.

The Gospel Message

The Lord Jesus Christ is alive and well today, and able to do all things. All power is given Him, and through His name, we are forgiven, and through the shedding of His blood our sins are remitted, and that His Word stands as true today as it did 2000 years ago. Repentance of one's sins, water baptism in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and being baptized with the Holy Ghost is His divine specific plan of salvation.
